Just came back from Padang / Bukittinggi yesterday.
A birthday trip for me.
A vacation for the whole family including MIL & FIL.
Alhamdulillah, everything went well, it was a nice "introduction to Bukittinggi" trip. Since the earthquake in Padang, I was not quite sure about this trip. I thought I want to cancel it and burn the tickets but hubby insisted to go. The weather was raining everyday. That's why I said it's an introduction trip. We couldn't do much. We visited several places but just observed from the car due to raining. We went to Istana Pagaruyung, but it's still under construction. the Rumah Gadang was also closed that day. We also visited Makam Raja Pagaruyung and Batu Ujian Seribu Janji. When we arrived at Batu Bertikam and Batu Bersurat, itw as rain heavily, we caouldn't even take a picture. On the way back, we stopped at Danau Sengkarak. Nothing much to do here.
The best part is of course the shopping. We went to Pasar Aur Kuning and Pasar Atas. Pasar Aur Kuning is famous for wholesale - lots of cloth material, house accessories i.e curtains, cushion cover, table cloth etc. ready made clothes, tudung.. and so many other things. Pasar Atas is famous for quality sulaman done on material for baju kurung, baju kebaya, telekung, tudung etc... will try to upload pictures soon..
The kids had their most fun at hotel - swimming pool. Hahahha...
